CIBO MATTOPom Pom: The Essential Cibo Matto$18.98 CD This first-ever Cibo Matto compilation gathers 18 career-spanning favorites from their '90s Warner Bros. releases. Includes the previously unreleased tracks "Swords And A Paintbrush" and "King Of Silence" (Dan The Automator Remix), as well as the rarities "Backseat" and "Vamos A La Playa." In the second half of the '90s, New York City-based Cibo Matto ("food madness" in Italian) were a cornerstone of the era-defining downtown music scene. Centered around the Japanese expatriate duo of Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori, they fused rap, trip-hop, Japanese pop, dub, lounge, alt-rock, and more. Sean Lennon became a member in 1999, a few years before the group disbanded, leaving a tasty legacy of music that stands as a late-20th century cultural hallmark.
